My minimum rate is 0.10 Euro per source word.

But I prefer to work at 0.11 Euro per source word.

I charge for my services at least 20 Euro per hour.

And my minimum charge per document is 15 Euro.

I have obtained an official translator / linguist degree.

I have been working as a translator since 1987.

I provide the following services: Translation, Proofreading.

By today, I have translated about 50,000 to 100,000 words.

I use the following tools: OmegaT.

Freelance journalism has been my other main activity since university days: writing is my natural talent, and it shows in the result of my translations. My clients have always been particularly satisfied with the quality of the final text. The other field in which my journalistic skills complement my translating skills is research: no matter how experienced, a translator MUST do research for every new job assignment. Language is a complex communication issue, and translation is not just transposition of words, but understanding and conveying of a message. "Translate ideas, not words", as the EU translators' motto goes. Therefore, the translation pro does do research, because understanding the issues is key to a succesful translation. The costant, lifelong education of the professional translator is certainly one of the main charms of this profession, and sure enough the reason why - I - desired to become and interpreter and translator since my primary school days.
