My key strength is in translation for technical products, and there in particular products who interact with software and computer hardware. I write user manuals with localization already in mind, and can also transfer embedded graphics to the target language. I can use a variety of source doucments beyond the usual Word/Excel, such as InDesign, Framemaker, AuthorIT, html web documents and many others, which results in a complete package to the end user, rather than just translated text. I am also well equipped to test localized software in a number of different native operating systems.
The rates above are only indicative; the final cost of translation tyically depends on the pre/post processing required and the number of non-text translations for images and graphics. For this reason I typically do not charge on a by word , but rather a per hour basis. Minimum charges are usually waived for existing clients. Availability can be discussed and is typically dependent on other clients' requirements, but can be up to 7 days a week for at least part of the day depending on requirements.
