Katarina Blažina holds Master's degree in conference interpreting for Croatian, English and German. She graduated in interpretation in 2005 at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz.

Upon having graduated, she worked as a University assistant in Graz, Trieste and Rijeka. She improved her translation and interpretation skills while working for two EU projects dealing with the reform of the judiciary system in Croatia (negotiation chapter 23).
